A Story of an Hour

A small clean room, with nothing around but a hospital bed and an old lady. With a big window that has a view that has never been seen before. As there are many modes of literature, but tragedy was the most excellent mode that fits the story.

Even though there are many symbols that point to a diverse mode, but if you thing about it, it actually points to tragedy. For example in the mode of tragedy the first, main point is a conflict. In the story the main character’s husband dies and she is all alone with no one to care for her. But though it may seem tragic it is actually happy for her. This is symbolized by her heading up the stairs.

Though in tragedy conflict is a key point, it’s the characters rise to power that play’s a big part. In the story the characters rise to power is one of the crucial point in tragedy. In the story her rise to power is that her husband is dead and that she is free to do whatever she wants. Also though she might be in a hospital she still feels like she can do anything. But that all changes when the main character’s down fall happens. Her down fall is the part that really shows that it is tragedy. In the story her tragic fall would be that everything is going magnificent until she is heading down the stairs and see’s her husband alive as never before. Going down the stairs is a main symbol that shows something bad is going to happen, and in her case having her husband be alive is. By having her husband being alive it hearts her so much that she ended up dyeing.

All thought there are many symbols that would lead you to another mode it is tragedy.
