Half way editing of story and part 1 of Time is like Memories

It was 1982 I was 4 when me and my sister were separated. Now I’m 13 and I am trying to find her; the only thing I could remember was her sweet laugh. It kills me to know that we separated, but my parents refuse to tell me what happened to her. But I think that they don’t even know what happened to her. The only thing that they will tell me is that we were at the park, I was on the swings, and she was going down the slide and that was the last time they saw her but I think they’re not telling me all that they now. I have to find her I went 9 years without my sister and this is where it ends. I can’t last any more I need my sister she is the only one who gets me and understands me like she does. I asked all of my family to see if the will tell me anything, but they didn’t I was so mad at them I mean how could they do this to me all I want to do is find my sister so my parents and I can be a family again. So I decided that if they won’t help me I’ll go look for her myself. I set off I grabbed all of my money and my parents; all together I had about 800 dollars. I knew it would break my parents heart to find out that I was gone but I had to I could not go any longer without her in my life.

I took the first bus out of here it said it was going to Iowa. Then I went through Nebraska and many more states, then I finally arrived in Colorado. I said to myself she is here I can feel it. I started way south and headed north I went to Colorado Springs, to Heartland, to Fort Collins. Then I finally said we are so close I can feel it. That day she arrived in Milliken she said she is here I now it. As she walked through the town she said to herself what happens if I never find her. Just then I hear her laugh, I thought that it was her but it couldn’t be so I called, out her name Elena, I was terrified what happened if I just imagined it and that it wouldn’t be her, then she turned.

Elena asked who are you do I know you. Then she realized it was her sister they both couldn’t believe it. Then she asked what happened to you were did you go I’ve missed you so much why did you leave me.

Elena couldn’t explain now she said “meet me at the park and I’ll tell you everything now go and run and don’t look back”.

So she did just what she said she meet her at the park.
Elena goes and said I was kidnapped and he has had me ever since. Who, who kidnapped you; it was Dad’s dear friend Jeff. Why he was dads best friend.

Elena couldn’t believe it either; she said that he was going to take me to go get ice cream.

By the time I realized I wasn’t able scream he held my mouth tight and no noise would come out.

Also he said that we were royal. Royal?

How could we be royal? I don’t now but we will have to try to figure it out.

Well I have to go, NO I shouted you are coming with me I have traveled to places you couldn’t imagine I came here to do one thing and it is to take you back with me I can’t last 1 more year without you. Ok fine ill come with you but we have to leave right away before he comes to get me. Ok. But before we leave I have to say good bye to our cousin. OUR COUSIN! She is here to he took her to well go back then and come and meet me back here tonight. I can’t I’m only aloud out once every night ok then we will make our escape tomorrow meet me at the store and bring Ella. The next day we all meet at the store. From there we left we took a train all the way out of Colorado. I couldn’t believe it, we escaped. But as we thought all of our trouble was gone we heard that there was a man looking for three girls. We were frightened so we did the unthinkable, we jumped off the train. As we jumped we saw him we were relived, we got away but now we have are stranded and don’t have anything to help us out. We just have a couple bottles of water and small bags of food. We walked for days when finally we came across civilization. But as soon as we got there we turned back around and left all we grabbed were some more water, food, a blanket and a pillow. We ran as fast as we could when we saw him, we were terrified we asked each other how did he find us? We ran for hours till we were far away. Finally we were tiered so we pulled out the one pillow and blanket and went to sleep. That morning we started again and before we knew it we were in a small town in Iowa. We were worried that he had followed us here so we bought rage’s to cover us it wasn’t much but it would do. Along the way we saw him and we hid, he asked everyone if they had seen these three girls and all everyone replied was no. He could not believe it that no one in this town could not see three little girls. So he looked and looked but we were not to be found, which was good for us. Once he left we were gone we ran as fast as we could. After we got away again we decide that we weren’t going to make any more stops unless we had to. So we traveled days, with only desert behind us. When our hope was nearly gone we came across another town, we stopped for food and water but shortly after we went back out we could not let him catch us. More days went by and that they soon became month. We were so tired so we took a nap, and before we knew it was the next day. We thought oh no we will never get back home. We all thought that but we knew that we shouldn’t give up hope. So we carried on, and on and on till we finally reached a hotel we were grateful we finally had a place to sleep that wasn’t a floor or hard dusty ground. We went up the stairs in to the master suit which out here was very cheap, we laid down (sigh) we thought we were finally safe for a while, that was till our cousin almost got caught. I mean even after we told her not go somewhere without telling us or having one of us go, but did she listen no she just went on like there was no one trying to get us or anything(melodramatic). So we stayed about 2 days and then left, but we left in a hurry. As we were on the road we meet a girl named Emily, she was one of the girls that escaped from our dads best friend too. We were shocked we could not believe that the man we all knew was a monster it was shocking. So we asked her if she wanted to come join us on the road and to live with us when we get back home. She was amazed that someone like me invites someone that she only new for 1 minute and has invited her to become part of her family. So Emily agreed that she would join us and come and be a part of our family, we were so ecstatic. So we walked and walked till we were tiered. We eventually reached about half of our destination, when we meet up with our aunt in Nebraska, she said that she would help me if I ever needed it. So as we arrived we were out of breath and she asked what was wrong we were terrified to tell her but we did eventually. We told her that dads best friends took Elena, our cousin, and this girl Emily that we decided to invite her to come live with us. She was shocked she couldn’t believe it, that dads closest friend would do that but it did. So as they we were at our aunts house he came by we were scared our aunt saw him too she told us to go hide in the closet and so we did. Eventually he left it was a relief, we came out and on the table there was a stack of money that said girls this should gets you to your house and safely away. We were scared we thought the worst the she was taken away by him.

Day of the Butterfly

Equipment all around and there, a big building with a many rooms in side. There was a room fill with posters, books and desks. It was the 6th grade hall, where a classroom was filled with students. A little girl is the outcast in her school and then suddenly has a friend. In the short story the “Day of the Butterfly” the story is reflecting upon the story Speak in many ways.

There are many stories that can relate to Day of the Butterfly but speak is truly the best to compare with. In the story “Day of the Butterfly” there is a young girl that is the outcast in the school and doesn’t fit in. For example “Then Myra had to come and ask the teacher “Please can I take my brother home, he has wet himself?” This is a great example in the story because it show that she spends most of her time taking care of her younger brother. Also this is a great example to relate to speak because in Speak the girl had no friends and had to do all of their work. Also in “Day of the Butterfly” in lunch they have were boys all sit together and all girls do. The difference from that to speak is that in the story it was that each clique had their own table to sit at.

But another connection between them is there modes. In the stories they both have tragedy as the mode. Like in all tragedy stories they all start out a world conflict, and in “Day of the Butterfly” Myra’s conflict is that she is getting bullied and that she is trying to protect her little brother. For example “What do you wash your hair in, Myra!” “Oh she washes it in cod-liver oil, don’t you, Myra, she washes it in cod-liver oil, cant you smell it?” In “Speak” Melinda the main character is an outcast because of doing the right thing. Then comes the characters rise to power, For Myra it is that she becomes friends with Helen, which symbolizes that having a friend is bringing light into her life. Also For Melinda in Speak her rise to power is that she was finally able to tell what actually went on at the party. Her tragic down fall or flaw is that she is insecure and that she is shy. Also for Melinda in “Speak” her flaw is that she is also insecure. But then the day after she got a butterfly brooch from Myra, Helen starts to realize that Myra hasn’t been at school, then a girl named Gladys Healey tells everyone that Myra is sick and that she is in the hospital. Then everyone decided to send her a gift and to go see her. Once everyone left Helen stayed after to give her some of her early birthday gift, but then they heard a sound and as Helen look out the window and unexpectedly Myra dies. That very day to people lost a friend, but it is diffrent from "Speak" because instead of a friend gone she gains one.

So even though the two stories have much alike they are equally different in their own way. In both stories the characters learned that being an outcast can lead to good things.
